Tracy Brabin is the Labour and Co-operative Member of Parliament for Batley and Spen.
The Batley and Spen Parliamentary constituency lies in West Yorkshire. It comprises the Kirklees Council Wards of Batley East, Batley West, Birstall and Birkenshaw, Cleckheaton, Heckmondwike, and Liversedge and Gomersal.
Historically, the area was known for its textile, mining and engineering industries. The town of Batley was also known for the world renowned Batley Variety Club which drew artists such as Sir Tom Jones, Tina Turner, Dame Shirley Bassey and other famous names to perform in the town. Today, Batley and Spen is well known for the production of beds and as the home of Fox’s Biscuits.
