Job Details:

Tracy Brabin is looking for a full time caseworker to join her constituency office team based in Gomersal, Batley & Spen.

Although previous casework experience would be beneficial it is not essential. The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational skills, be able to work on their own initiative, under pressure and be able to prioritise their workload. Excellent written communication, IT skills and the ability to work as part of a team are also essential for the right candidate.

Batley & Spen is a diverse constituency and the job is a demanding and rewarding role. Knowledge of the area would be helpful but not required. You will be enthusiastic, confident and empathetic, with a passion to help local people. You will need to understand the limits and remit of an MP and be able to communicate these sensitively to constituents, resolving a wide range of issues including welfare benefits, housing and immigration.

You will attend surgeries with Tracy, taking notes and following up on agreed actions. Some evening and weekend work may be required and a full clean driving license would be beneficial.
