Batley and Spen MP Tracy Brabin was honoured to cut the ribbon and declare a newly refurbished children’s play centre officially open last month.
Diddy Middy’s Play Gym in Cleckheaton reopened on the 16th February after an extensive refurbishment that has breathed new life into the facility.
Co-owners Chris Brady and Gary Parfitt, who have stepped out of their comfort zones after careers in local banks, bought the popular play gym in September and have been working flat out ever since to revamp the facilities and café.
Batley and Spen MP Tracy Brabin said: “Gary and Chris have done an absolutely fantastic job with Diddy Middy’s and I thoroughly enjoyed my visit – not least having a cuddle with Gary’s adorable baby twins Sebastian and Spencer!
“The refurbished playgym looks amazing and it was clear from the little ones who attended on the day that it will be a hit with local families.
“I was also encouraged to hear that as passionate advocates of keeping it local they will be focusing on local produce for their lovely in-house café.
“It was a pleasure to declare the rejuvenated play gym officially open and I wish both families the best of luck in their new venture.”
Tracy was joined by former Bradford City footballer Joe Cooke at the grand opening who co-owns the adjoining PJ’s Health and Fitness Village.
