Local MP for Batley and Spen, Tracy Brabin, has encouraged her constituents to volunteer their time with Oxfam Online Batley.
This news follows Ms Brabin’s recent visit to the site, where skilled staff and volunteers work together to turn clothing and accessories donated to Oxfam into an online showcase of the most sought after items.
Oxfam is an international movement working to end global poverty. Local people interested in volunteering at Oxfam Online Batley can sign up here.
MP for Batley and Spen, Tracy Brabin said:
“I am seriously impressed by the level of skill on display at Oxfam Online Batley, and the variety of creative volunteering opportunities available.
“I encourage anyone who has some spare time and is interested in fashion and all things creative to enquire about volunteering at the site. You will have a great time, and find yourself playing a part in tackling global poverty.
“If fashion isn’t your thing, you may be interested in volunteering for another charity. From Batley Food Bank, to Downs and Special Friends, there are some fantastic local opportunities to enjoy yourself whilst also making a difference. Volunteeringkirklees.org.uk is a great place to start your voluntary opportunities search”.
